Parventa Elementary School participates in Ventspils city urbanization

Students and teachers of Parventa Elementary School as representatives of Eco-school and project EUROMOSAICA participated in urbanization work for Ventspils city environment. Students collected garbage in the little forest, which is located behind children’s park "Fantazija”. In this clean-up participated children starting from the 6th grade up to 9th grade. After the well done work, each class did tasks about forests, for example, recognize varieties of different trees, recognize Latvian forest animals etc. Overall we were proud of the amount we collected which we also sorted in different bags. This year there was a lot less garbage comparing to last years. This means that people are starting to think about preservation our nature and tidiness. While the clean-up was happening, other Parventa people were curious about this organized event and they were intrigued to participate. We are really looking forward to our next clean-up. Maybe in even bigger participant count, because our school’s Environmental Codex reminds us:

Preserve forest, preserve nature Preserve our native land. I know that all of us can Protect this world!

An important event for Ventspils city is getting the Blue Flag Certificate for our beach. This is a celebration, when students and teachers of Parventa Elementary School lead sport activities, educational games about our environment and sing songs.

This year our school held an event for Eco-schools - Eco spring. The purpose of this event was to help other students learn more about our environment and we think that our aim was achieved. We think that our community liked it.
