"Hristo Botev" Basic School in the town of Rakovski is a modern school with over 150 years of history. It educates 493 children from 5 to 14 years in 22 classes. There are a few students with special needs. About 20 per cent of all students are from very poor families and most of them are at risk of social exclusion.

The pedagogical staff consists of 37 teachers, most of whom are senior teachers, with a lot of experience and care for children. There are two psychologists who work with the students with special needs.

Our school has its European plan of development which includes more teachers to qualify in the field of motivating and increasing students' awareness of education. That's  why we applied and conducted with success our  Erasmus+ KA 1 project " Let's meet the challenges  of 21st century in our children's education, with knowledge and skills" a year ago. The main goals of the pedagogical staff are the social inclusion and innovative practices in teaching.  Every year we participate in various programmes and projects so that our teachers and students would be able to open and spread their potential, creativity and skills.

In 2017 the school started two Erasmus+ projects
